Lake Regional Health System is pleased to announce the 39th Annual HK’s Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament is scheduled June 2-4 at The Cove Golf Course at The Lodge of Four Seasons.
“Kansas City Chiefs fans will not want to miss this experience,” said Susan Brown, HK’s Tournament co-chair. “Throughout all three days of this event, many current and former Chiefs players will be here to support our hospital. It’s a great opportunity for fans to meet the players, while helping out a great cause.”
HK’s activities will kick off at the VIP/Celebrity Party on Friday, June 2, in the Marbella Room at The Lodge of Four Seasons. This party, which is open to the public, is a great opportunity to talk with many Chiefs and Chiefs Ambassadors and other sports celebrities. The evening also will feature live entertainment by The Ralph Butler Band. Sponsors who contribute $1,000 or more receive complimentary tickets. For others, tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance.
On Saturday, June 3, the Meet the Chiefs Party and Auction will take place in the Granada Room at The Lodge of Four Seasons. There will be silent and live auctions, and items up for bid include jewelry, golf packages, vacations, sports memorabilia and more. Tickets are $25 and available at the door.
The golf tournament will be held Sunday, June 4, at The Cove Golf Course. The Cove, the Lodge’s signature course, was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. The 18-hole, par-71 championship course challenges guests with its rolling greens, 65 bunkers and signature hole 4. The tournament will feature several closest-to-the-hole and hole-in-one prizes, as well as two putting contests. Flights are scheduled in the morning and afternoon.
Registration is $295 per golfer and includes a $100 Callaway gift card; on-course refreshments; two tickets to Saturday evening’s Meet the Chiefs Party and Auction; and more.
All proceeds from the 2017 tournament will benefit Lake Regional Outpatient Services, which includes ambulatory surgery. With more than 26,400 visits annually, the busy department will be remodeled to enhance patient comfort and privacy and to accommodate the growing number of individuals who require outpatient services.
“Outpatient Services provides medical procedures, tests and therapies that can be performed in a hospital without an overnight stay,” said Janny Drover, R.N., Outpatient Services manager. “Changes in medical technology and procedures, such as laparoscopic surgery and new techniques for cardiac catheterization, are making more procedures available on an outpatient basis and increasing demand for these services at Lake Regional.”
Renovations to Outpatient Services will replace the existing curtain privacy barrier between patient beds with 28 enclosed patient bays, each fronted with a glass sliding door. The current floor plan, which spreads nursing and support staff across three separate areas, will be transformed into an open plan with a centralized nursing station. This new layout will support more efficient care and will enable caregivers to see all 28 beds from the nursing station.
“Our 60 Outpatient Services team members are an innovative, highly-skilled, patient-centered team,” Drover said. “These renovations will help them deliver an exceptional experience for our patients.”
