Lake Regional Health System will host “SHED Grief Tools” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, in the hospital’s third floor conference rooms.
SHED stands for Surviving, Healing and Evolving through Death Loss. This health talk is for people grieving a loss, as well as for those who support others facing grief. The speaker is Tashel Bordere, PhD, CT, an assistant professor of Human Development and Family Science and a state extension specialist in Youth Development at University of Missouri – Columbia.
Topics will include coping with loss and grief across the lifespan, how to support bereaved individuals, and understanding our innate ability to learn and thrive while facing adversity.
Lake Regional offers a variety of educational programming during the year, on such topics as diabetes, heart disease and arthritis. Several health fairs and screenings also are held annually throughout the lake area. For information on upcoming events, visit www.lakeregional.com/events.
