Aquatic Exercise Classes

Arthritis (Arthritis Foundation guidelines) — 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays
Water Aerobics (high impact) — 5 and 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

Participants may attend Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Childbirth 101 – Osage Beach
5 p.m. Monday, June 3, Lake Regional Family Birth Center conference room
This class is for women in their third trimester. Explore various childbirth options, and learn how to plan a personalized birth experience. You and your coach will learn about the stages of labor and will practice breathing and relaxation techniques. Plus you will receive access to an online, interactive book, “Understanding Birth,” which you can use at home. The class is free, but registration is required. Mothers who attend all three Lake Regional courses for expectant families — Bright Beginnings; Childbirth 101; and Baby, Breastfeeding & Beyond — and deliver at Lake Regional receive a free car seat. Baby, Breastfeeding & Beyond – Osage Beach

This class is for women in their third trimester. Learn all about caring for a newborn in this interactive class. You’ll learn about breastfeeding; diapering; bathing; swaddling; car seat safety; comforting; and much more. You also will learn what to expect after delivery and receive tools to help you thrive in the first few weeks of parenthood. Lymphedema 101
11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, Lake Regional Cancer Resource Center
This is a one-hour course for patients at risk of developing lymphedema because of a medical condition, surgery or cancer treatment. Presenters are Katie Kelley and Danielle Baumgartner, both occupational therapists and certified lymphedema therapists. AHA Heartsaver CPR, AED, with Optional First Aid Course
8 a.m.–12 p.m. for CPR/AED and 12:30–3:30 p.m. for First Aid, Wednesday, June 12, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms
The morning session covers how to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant, and how to use an AED. If you also require first aid certification, stay for the afternoon session. Participants who demonstrate the skills taught in the course receive a Heartsaver CPR, AED, First Aid course completion card. Total Joint Camp
10 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, and 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, Lake Regional Hospital, Cardiac Rehab Conference Room, second floor

Camdenton Sports Physicals
3:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, Camdenton High School
Lake Regional Orthopedics will provide free sports physicals for Camdenton middle school and high school students. Students should wear loose-fitting clothing and have a parent or guardian present. The general and musculoskeletal exam includes height, weight, blood pressure and vision checks. Only sports physicals will be provided. The Camden County Health Department also will be available to give meningitis and Tdap vaccinations to incoming eighth graders and seniors. Supersitters Course
9 a.m.–3 p.m. Thursday, June 13, and Friday, June 14, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms
Children ages 9 to 14 who plan to offer babysitting services are invited to participate in Lake Regional’s free two-day Supersitters child care class. On Thursday, June 13, participants will learn about the basics of babysitting, child development and safety, as well as how to manage mealtime, bath time, bedtime, temper tantrums and discipline. Characteristics of a successful sitter and the business aspect of babysitting also will be discussed. On Friday, June 14, participants will learn basic, lifesaving CPR and first-aid techniques. Stop the Bleed
6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms
The first five minutes after an injury could mean the difference between life and death. Mariah Swinker, R.N., Lake Regional Trauma nurse coordinator, will teach participants how to control life-threatening bleeding. The class is free and open to the public. 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, Lake Regional Cancer Center Resource Room
This free workshop is provided by the American Cancer Society for all women who currently are undergoing cancer treatment. Women learn beauty techniques for skin care, makeup application and coping with hair loss. Participants receive a complimentary bag of makeup. Reservations are required.
