Aquatic Exercise Classes

Freedom From Smoking ®
9–11 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 6 through Feb. 24, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms
This course is taught in eight sessions and focuses on strategies for successful quitting. Because no single quit technique is effective for all smokers, Freedom From Smoking® includes a comprehensive variety of evidence-based cessation techniques. The curriculum also includes the latest research about nicotine replacement therapy (gum, inhalers, patches, lozenges and nasal spray) and other smoking cessation medications. Program cost is $25. Bright Beginnings – Osage Beach
5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms
Learn the benefits of making healthy choices for you and your baby, receive pointers for overcoming pregnancy discomforts, and learn how to recognize and respond to signs of potential complications. Also, receive the books “Great Expectations” and “Oh, Baby! From Baby Bump to Baby’s First Birthday: The Everything Planner.” Mothers who attend all three Lake Regional courses for expectant families — Bright Beginnings; Childbirth 101; and Baby, Breastfeeding & Beyond — and deliver at Lake Regional receive a free car seat. AHA Heartsaver CPR, AED, with Optional First Aid Course
8 a.m.–12 p.m. for CPR/AED and 12:30–3:30 p.m. for First Aid, Wednesday, Jan. 10, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms
The morning session covers how to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant, and how to use an AED. If you also require first aid certification, stay for the afternoon session. Participants who demonstrate the skills taught in the course receive a Heartsaver CPR, AED, First Aid course completion card. Total Joint Camp

Infant CPR
6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms
This free course will teach American Heart Association guidelines for infant CPR and is available to parents or soon-to-be parents and grandparents. Online registration is required. This is not a certification course. To become certified, please sign up for one of our comprehensive American Heart Association CPR courses. Childbirth 101 – Osage Beach
5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms
In this class, women receive the tools they need to develop their own personal birth experiences. Pregnant women and their coaches explore childbirth options; learn about the stages of labor; practice breathing and relaxation techniques; and receive access to an online, interactive book, “Understanding Birth,” which they can use at home. The class is free, but registration is required. Look Good…Feel Better
9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, Lake Regional Cancer Center Resource Room
This free workshop is provided by the American Cancer Society for all women who currently are undergoing cancer treatment. Women learn beauty techniques for skin care, makeup application and coping with hair loss. Participants receive a complimentary bag of makeup. Reservations are required.
