Lake Area Chamber Celebrates LakeExpo.com's Growth, Membership With Ribbon Cutting

LAKE OZARK, Mo. — LakeExpo, the Lake of the Ozarks’ news website since 2007, recently celebrated their move to a new, larger office with a ribbon cutting and open house.

The Lake Area Chamber helped LakeExpo celebrate with a ribbon cutting at their office, at 2820 Bagnell Dam Blvd in Lake Ozark, on May 10, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Attendees included LakeExpo staff, friends and family, as well as several Lake Area Chamber staff, board members, and volunteers.

LakeExpo.com was founded in 2007 by Brent Simpson, as a daily news and classifieds website. The site built a sizable readership, interested in goings-on at Lake of the Ozarks, many of whom had second homes at the Lake and lived elsewhere. The Lake Alert—LakeExpo's daily newsletter—grew in subscribers and popularity. LakeExpo has always been many boaters' connection to the Lake!

LakeExpo's Editor Nathan Bechtold came aboard in 2012, and the growth continued. Now a team of full-time employees and freelancers provide daily coverage of news, the boating lifestyle, and feature stories covering the Lake. In 2018, LakeExpo launched Boats Expo and Real Estate Expo, where thousands of boaters and home-shoppers are finding their new dream boat or dream home at the Lake. Simpson says LakeExpo’s goal is to continue growing readership as they write stories Lake people love to read, and offer innovative advertising solutions to local businesses.
