Director of Economic Development, Rob Dixon, to speak at LOREDC Annual Meeting

The Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council (LOREDC) is excited to announce the LOREDC Annual Membership Meeting from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at The Lodge of Four Seasons.  Anyone interested in economic development and the growth of the Lake Area is welcome to attend.  Please RSVP to Jeana Woods at the City of Osage Beach via e-mail at or phone at 573-302-2000 ext. 290.
The morning will start with a complimentary breakfast buffet followed by a program that
contains LOREDC committee updates including; housing, workforce and marketing.  The
LOREDC Annual Business Awards will also be presented to recipients that have been in
business in the tri-county region for a minimum of six months and a registered business in
Camden, Miller or Morgan County. The three LOREDC Business Award categories are;
Business Partner of the Year that that has experienced significant business accomplishments in
the past year i.e. growth in jobs and/or exemplary community involvement.  Business Person of
the Year to a business owner/manager that has made a contribution to the economic welfare
and/or has made a considerable donation of time and resources to the community. Emerging
Enterprise of the Year to a business that best display the innovation, entrepreneurial
accomplishments and utilization of emerging technology. 
Prior to a short break the LOREDC board of director’s nominations and election will take place.

Following the nomination and election of the LOREDC board of directors Rob Dixon the 
Director of Missouri Department of Economic Development will be the keynote speaker. 
Governor Eric Greitens appointed Rob Dixon as the Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development on July 1, 2017. 
Most recently, Rob served as the President/CEO of the Missouri Community College Association.  MCCA is a membership organization for Missouri’s community colleges, providing government advocacy, networking, and education resources for its members.  It is the largest higher education association in the state, with approximately 2,000 members.
Rob also served in a variety of roles at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. His overall responsibilities included leadership and management of staff and programs in economic and workforce development, public affairs, local government policy, communications, community development, and strategic planning.  Rob Dixon also served as the Executive Director of the Hollister Area of Chamber of Commerce.
Rob joined the U.S. Marine Corps after high school, where he served as an intelligence analyst in Afghanistan and Pakistan immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.  He was recognized for leadership and performance as a U.S. Marine.  Rob received an honorable discharge as a sergeant after five years in the Marine Corps.
Rob has a Master of Public Administration degree from Missouri State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and an Associate of Arts in Political Science from St. Charles Community College. 
Rob is a native Missourian.  He is married to Melanie Dixon, and they have one son, Eddie.
