Lake Ozark, MO - 2019 Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days presented by Ameren MO, brought nearly record-breaking temperatures along with huge crowds. Over 3,500 people attend the two-day event from all over Missouri and surrounding states. In addition to World Bird Sanctuary offering Eagle programs at Osage National, School of the Osage opened the doors of the Heritage Building welcoming Dickerson Park Zoo showcasing two different programs to packed shows. Along with the programs, Heritage Elementary hosted vendor booths, the photo contest along with the ever-popular coloring contest, which had hundreds of entries again this year. Master Naturalists added activities at the Osage River Access including building a life size eagle’s nest along with scopes for viewing. Willmore Lodge also offered viewing opportunities with multiple sightings made throughout the two days of eagles soaring in the skies and perched in the trees. In addition to all of the activities during the event itself, the committee with the help of Ameren MO was able to visit 13 area elementary schools during the months of November and December with important safety messages and Dickerson Park Zoo’s “Owls of Missouri” program, which was a delight for all. The committee would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all of the businesses and organizations that stepped up and sponsored the event, as it would not be possible without those sponsorships. This event is a collaborative effort of more than 50 businesses and organizations that realize the importance of educating people about how many wonderful natural attributes are offered at Lake of the Ozarks.
