Get Outdoors Day

Branches for the Lake is hosting a family-fun day on June 15 at La Roca Event Venue in Osage Beach to celebrate Great Outdoors Month. The event aims to encourage kids of all ages to unplug and explore the great outdoors. Hang up your phones and enjoy a day full of activities, kids’ games, live music, food, a beer garden, outdoor yoga, trail walking, and other entertainment. Unplug and reconnect at this outdoor family event. Activities begin at 10 a.m. with a yoga class for all ages and abilities lead by IDoYoga, followed by kids' yoga from 11-11:30 a.m. lead by Lake Ozark Yoga & Pilates. No cost and no equipment is needed; just show up on time and join in the courtyard. From 11 a.m.-3 p.m., booths representing local clubs around Lake of the Ozarks will introduce programs and outdoor activities available in the area. The Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council, Osage Beach Parks & Recreation, the Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Lake Area Runners Club, and other organizations will provide more information about their groups. The Camdenton Dance TEAM will offer face painting and temporary tattoos for a donation. The first 100 families to stop by the Branches for the Lake booth will receive a goodie bag. Gorilla’s Grub Food Truck will sell a variety of food all day, and Twisted Whip will have sweet treats. Magic Dragon Trails volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about trails in the area. Live music from Clay Hughes will be from 2-4 p.m. The Magic Dragon Bicycle Skills Park and Walking Trail is located within walking distance of La Roca and is open for use daily. Get a team of five together and enter the FamilyMpics, an adrenaline-pumping family Olympics competition. Test your group’s skills with these timed, wacky backyard games. Entry is $30 with no age limits. An Old-Fashioned Washer Tournament will be held from 3-6 p.m. The tournament is sponsored by El Bandido Tequila, who will be providing tequila tastings. Teams of two will compete in double elimination rounds. The winner will receive prizes. Registration is $50. About Branches for the Lake Branches for the Lake is a non-profit based in Osage Beach dedicated to fostering economic growth through community, collaboration, connectivity, and commerce. In 2023, Branches for the Lake was awarded a grant from the Missouri Department of Economic Development, administered by the Missouri Community Service Commission, to develop an AmeriCorps program that will allow B4TL to deliver a wide range of services focused on economic opportunity and education. Through the implementation of AmeriCorps programs, Branches for the Lake intends to address critical community needs, such as increasing academic achievement, mentoring youth, sustaining national parks, creating outdoor recreation for all, providing job skills training and preparedness, increasing economic development, and other key initiatives.
